Group Chairman
Jonathan Pfeffer opened ‘Pfeffer & Co.’ in St Ann’s Square, Manchester in February 1970, establishing a well-respected legal firm that specialized in conveyancing and commercial property.
Graham Leigh
Senior Partner – Bury & Prestwich Practices
Graham Leigh joined GLP Solicitors in October 1981 and qualified as a solicitor in December 1981. Graham has responsibility for the general management of the GLP Solicitors firms
Neil Sugarman
Senior Solicitor and Consultant – Bury Practice
Neil Sugarman qualified as a Solicitor in 1981. Since that time he has practised almost exclusively in the field of personal injury litigation
Carol-Ann Duke
Partner – Prestwich Practice
Carol-Ann Duke qualified as a solicitor in December 1996. Originally from Cardiff, Carol-Ann relocated to the North West in 1997 and joined GLP as the Managing Solicitor of the Prestwich office in November 2006.
Terry Kelly
Partner – Prestwich & Bury Practices
Terry Kelly qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and has since then acted exclusively for claimants in personal injury cases. He has a varied caseload including road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping accidents and criminal injuries compensation claims.
Paul Wainwright
Partner – Bury Practice
Paul Wainwright joined GLP in 1988 and became a Partner in 1997. In addition, Paul provides a mentoring service to the University and is a Board member on the local radio station.
Steven Astley
Partner and Head of Injury – Bury Practice
Steven is an injury lawyer with more than 20 years’ experience handling all types of personal injury claims, including serious and catastrophic injury cases (spine, brain, serious orthopaedic) and fatal accidents.
Ben Tyer

Ben leads the private client department at GLP Bury and is a regular contributor to a number of leading national newspapers and financial publications advising on all matters relating to Wills, Trusts and Probate.

Heather Radcliffe

Having previously worked as a Senior Manager for Victim Support for 10 years and with an additional 10 years experience with GLP Solicitors, Heather brings a wealth of expertise for victims of violent crimes, rape and sexual abuse whom she helps with applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.

Debbie Peel
Practice Manager and HR Officer – Bury & Prestwich Practice
Debbie Peel joined GLP Bury in March 2008 as Practice Manager. Debbie’s role is Management and HR within the firm. She also has involvement with ensuring compliance with Lexcel, the Practice Management Standard Award, an accreditation which was originally attained in 2002 and has been achieved annually ever since.

Maryam Khan
Solicitor – Bury Practice
Maryam is a Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution Team. She Joined GLP in July 2017 as a paralegal in the commercial department and qualified as a solicitor in August 2020. Maryam has extensive experience dealing with a range of corporate transactions whilst acting for both purchasers and sellers. Also, dealing with commercial property matters acting for both landlord and tenants on drafting and reviewing leases, licences and other associated documentation, as well as dealing with stamp duty for tenants and land registrations.

Bryony has over 15 years experience within finance, 10+ years specifically in the legal industry. She focuses mainly on streamlining processes to improve efficiency, and adding strategic value through business partnering with non-finance colleagues.
Holly Woodland

Holly is a Trainee Solicitor, who handles predominantly criminal injury claims. She has over 4 years’ experience in criminal injuries compensation claims, having started with GLP in 2019 as a paralegal dealing with lower value claims to now progressing to higher value and more complex matters including physical and sexual assaults, and historical abuse.

Paralegal – Bury Practice
Leah is a Paralegal in our Injury Team who has been with us for over 4 years. She works predominantly with victims of violent crimes, securing damages awards from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
