Helen Barnes – Partner and Senior Solicitor
Helen has over 25 years’ experience as a Solicitor specialising in complex personal injury litigation, with particular expertise in serious and catastrophic injury claims and high-value cases.
She has extensive experience in complex claims under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) Scheme, including challenging appeals and cases involving significant evidential, limitation and eligibility issues. She also represents clients in complex civil injury claims involving brain injury, catastrophic physical and psychological injury, long-term disability, substantial care needs and significant financial losses.
Helen has particular experience in developing litigation strategy in complex cases, including cases where liability, causation, prognosis or quantum are disputed or where specialist medical and financial evidence is required. She adopts a thorough and pragmatic approach to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients while ensuring that the complexities of each claim are carefully managed.
Helen is part of the management team within the Injury Department and is committed to providing clear, strategic and sensitive advice to clients throughout the claims process.
