GLP Solicitors, Bury has recently concluded a claim for a 35-year-old client who lost a leg as a result of an industrial accident.  Liability was initially disputed by two defendants.

GLP was able to obtain a substantial interim payment for the client until the case was able to be settled as he had to undergo an above knee amputation.

Evidence was obtained from a care expert, an occupational therapist, an accommodation expert, a consultant in amputee rehabilitation and an expert in prosthetics.  The defendants also obtained evidence in all these disciplines.

At a settlement conference with leading counsel, the claim settled for £1.6 million.
